School Lecture Program

The UN says in its annual report that Sri Lanka is the 5th biggest Ocean polluting nation in the world out of a list of 207 countries.

Our future generations are slowly parading into a difficult time as they grow older. They do not know enough about the ongoing environment destruction or have sufficient knowledge as what to do to overcome it! Organizing school lecture programs & workshops with internationally-qualified expert lecturers has a broad moral approach in the environment conservation subject in schools in the Southern Province jointly with the Department of Education, is focused to impart essential awareness into their young minds. Importance of protecting the environment and the ocean is an salient part of our lives. Oceans are getting polluted because people haphazardly discharge plastic and micro plastic materials to the ocean. Apart from plastics, there are many other pollutant materials such as waste and sewage, chemical substances do also add outlays to biodiversity composure in the Ocean. Through our lecture programs, we aim to help our next generations to come to be with a better understanding as to how they can adopt and add new values into their lives, attitudes and to act to save our planet. Eg: 1881 Sri Lanka had 82% of islandwide forest coverage but by 2015 which came down to 16%. This is a bad precedent and should never be allowed to continue. Giving our younger generations knowledge and a suitable platform is an extremely important subject matter.
